Hi everyone,
It has been a wicked couple of days here in Asia! 'Monty and I arrived in Bangkok and quickly got our transfer to the hotel Grand View (which, to our suprise, must have been a three or four star). We went out on our first full day, to wander the streets where we met an English teacher from the local school. He hailed us a tuk tuk and gave us some sites to see! We went round a few temples and a few stores and tried to get used to the heat!!!
We set off for Cambodia with our STA groupvb who are all wicked, especially Tanya, Lisa (the aussie chicks) Matt and Abbey! The group is led byT, who is a cambodian himself! The poverty we saw as we crossed into Cambodia was amazing, there were no roads to start with and people were living in slum housing!
It took us a good few hours to reach our hotel in Siem Reap (which has a pool WOOHOO!!!!) and we went out for dinner! Since then, we have visited five or six astonishing 12th century temples in the jungles (including the one from tomb raider) and visited the land mine museum and Carving school! I'll go into more detail when I get to Oz cause t'ínternet is quite expensive here!
There have been a couple of nights out which have ended with six in a tuk tuk(built for 4, and you haven't seen the way these guys drive!!!) and a 4 am swimming session in the hotel pool! Much fun!!
We're heading off today for another part of the country and then on to Vietnam, I'll send another email when I get a chance there and hopefully get some of my many photos up on the website!!!
I will try to get in contact with you on an individual basis when I get to Oz, so don't be offended if I take a while and don't stop posting me messages cause I will be reading them!!!
Cheers people, hope everyone is well and living life to the full!!!
