Hey, Apparently no one likes you, misses you or is thinking about you during this holiday season. I feel bad for you. That being said, are you coming home yet????? Want to see more photos! My bro is wearing his Tivo's as we speak. He's also sitting next to me helping me figure out how to use my new Shuffle!!!!! Very exciting - moving into the 21st Century - even if I had to be pushed. We all talk about you non stop. Keep writing. xo, Kathleen

I'll be home fore Christmas...if only in my dreams......
Just a short message home today wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. Last night a small mountain villiage of Bac Ha was teh stop for a Christmas Eve celebration. A tour group of Chech Republic had brought a tree branch and decorated it w/ 2 ornaments, ey sung Chrismas carols, and exhcnaged presents. Traveling w/ Elena, just the 2 of us, we exchanged stories of our family traditions. It was like piecing together the best part of every Christmas I can ever remember.
This year Christmas is in my heart instead of under my tree. Being in a foreign land that knows what Christmas is but doesn't' celebrate it themselves, I am reminded that Christmas is really a time to stop the hectic day to day of normal life and appreciate the imporant things. My thoughts turn immeidately to all of you, those I Love.
I'm imagining all the meals and gifts and laughter and stories you are all catching up on with eachother. The snow, the cold, the trees decorated with lights. It's quite amazing. So don't let the day pass without noticing it all yourself.
This year for Christmas I have the best presents I could ever imagine. The love and support of all of you. While it is a hard gift to wrap and put under a tree, it's value is priceless. And the one that means the most to me.
I LOVE YOU ALL. VERY MUCH!!!!
Merry Christmas!
Karyn

I think I mis-posted the last message so... Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas to you. You have inspired me to buy a digital SLR. No more bagging rolls of film. Now there's room for clothing in my luggage. So as far as I'm concerned your trip is now officially sanctioned a success.
Just saw Mauara M on elevator. We're talling about vacation. She's headed for Vietman next week. & my neighbor is headed there too for a three week stay. She's also a former Citibanker. What is it about Vietnam that attracts Citibankers? I don't know. But clearly VN is the place to be.
Tomorrow night I'm headed for the Bronx Zoo Holiday lights. I'll see SE Asian tigers. That's about as close as I'll be to VN for some time.
Hoping Santa brings you good presents and aexciting adventures. Love,
David

Everybody is going way overboard with this dong thing. Very innapropriate people (sort of like daddy)! Love your interesting cultural facts though. Hope you have fun!

Danita Jo,
It sounds like you have met several other people touring alone. Take many pictures, so we can feel that we were on the trip with you, when you come home. The Junk Boat really sounds great.
We've been busy around here. The house is decorated, meals for the holidays are planned, gifts bought, etc. I still have to wrap the gifts, make fudge and cookies, clean the house, and buy the food. Kim and Ryan are coming on Saturday. Aunt Denise, Uncle Jim and the girls are coming on Tuesday (12/26). Uncle Bill and Aunt Mary will arrive on 12/27). We will have 9 for Christmas dinner. Ally won't be with us on Christmas because DJ has to work until 1:00. He will get her the next day. On 12/28 there will be 19 of us for dinner. We are looking forward to having everyone here.
Dad said he really misses the Saturday morning wake up callsto you and hopes you are getting up on time.
