After a few rainy days in Hope, stunting our work here for a while we shot off at the first sign of sunshine to get a well earned rest from the farm and take a drive along the Fraser Canyon to 'Hell's Gate' for the day!!
No we haven't been terribly sinful on our tour - 'Hell's Gate' is the name of the narrowest part of the 'Mighty Fraser River' and because of the sudden change in width it causes huge amounts of water to squeeze through this narrow and incredibly deep area - Over 200 million gallons of water per minute thunder through a 33 metre wide passage and at 200 feet deep too you wouldn't want to take a dip in that water!!!!! EEEEkkkkkkkkkk People, i am told, do risk their lives and raft through this - but you'll see from the photo's I'm not sure we'll take that risk!! A nice, quiet swim in the lake would suit me fine (Ross thinks I'm boresville!)
So we survived our trip to 'Hell' and back...!
