Sorry for the delay on updates, been a little busy.
Sunday 19th May was my birthday so celebrations were well underway, a braai with family and new friends, lots of drinking, great laughs and a very sore head the following day to say the least!! But a perfect day dispite the rain. Us Zimbabweans always make a plan; we had the braai in the garage. table and chairs in there too. A little bit on the chilly side but nothing a jacket couldn't fix. My cake well.... as the joke goes it had a very polite candle on it. ha ha ha!! Ended the evening with a drunken family skype call to my mom and sister in Exeter UK.
Monday 20th:
Went to Fairlie with my Uncle and had a walk through the little village, the mountain views just spectacular!! The weather was beautiful clear blue skies and warm. Did some research and the ski resort is just about 40km away form Fairlie - Mount Cook, Mt Hutt and Methvan all with in a good distance from each other. so the Skiing will soon be underway when the resorts open and will book me in some lessons.
Tuesday 21st:

Up early and out the door with my Uncle, road trip!!! We're off to Staveley to see the sharplin Falls. Picnic basket packed, cameras ready and we're off.........
I'm back..... and WOW!!!! Is all i can say. Just absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. The weather was beautiful, clear blue skies. So peaceful and picturesque, the mountain range was...... ummm there are no words just look at the pictures and see for yourself. Drove most of the way there (on the back roads) not legal yet ssshhhh!!! On the way back we stopped in Methven at The Blue Bar for a cheeky beer, seems all the bars are named after colours. Bring on the ski season that place will be rocking!!!
Sunday 26th:
A typical lazy Sunday and the boring stuff like house work and washing. Speaking of washing, it was dry with in 30mins!!! Never in my life have i experienced gale force winds like that in all my life!!! s*** the bed!!! Crazy man!! Garden chairs were flying down the garden, washing blown off the line even though it had 3 pegs on each item of clothing!! The howling sound of the wind unbelievable!! So you lot in the UK can now pipe down when you say you have gale force winds!! uncle comes homw from AGM meeting 3pm and says we are going to the beach!! WWHHAATT in this weather and with this wind!! Are you mad!!?? But ok lets go. Camera's packed, snacks packed, beanie on and dressed warm. Off we go to Wakanui beach to watch the new full moonrise. Get there and there is no gale force winds its calm and not so cold. We've only travelled 20km from Ashburton. WOW WOW WOW i have never seen anything so spectacular in all my life. Watching the new moonrise over the ocean, bright orange and then pure white!! After the beach we went to te cousins for a cuppa coffee to warm up a little and have a catch up. Saw my bestie little Lily pup who was not very well she was poorly and just not herself. My poor little baby.
The pictures are uploaded for you to see. more travels but travels on my own will be starting next week after the bank holiday, Queeny's birthday. May even make a spontaneous trip to Auckland see some friends who i have not seen in 20yrs WOW!!!! That is crazy!! But happy days, let the travels continue.
