29th - Nadi
Had to come back to the mainland for a night to get my transfer to Ocotopus tomorrow.
Have a German girl in my room who has not had much luck on her travelling. All she has done is moan about everything and is even going home early - a bit of over exagerating there!
Decided (mistakenly) to go for some drinks with the girl and 2 german guys who are staying in one of the other rooms. Went up to the bar and when I returned they were talking in German. Fair enough I thought, they will finish their conversation and go back to English which they were all good at. NOPE! 10 mins later they were still talking in German - HOW RUDE. I said I was leaving and they didn't even apologise. Ignorant bas**rds.
30th
Up at 6.30am to catch the transfer to Octopus. I really can't wait. I have spoke to a few people who have been there and they all aboslutely love it.
No wonder they love it - the place is paradise. The dorms are amazing, everything is so clean. They have a lovely restaurant where you actually get a choice of meals for your lunch. They have a gorgous white sandy beach, sunloungers, a fresh water pool, I could go on and on.
Lay about on the beach until the welcome ceremony. Met a lovely couple, Jenny form Scotland and Runa her bf and 2 irish girls Claire and Maria. We played the pub quiz that night and won a bottle of champagne for the best team name which I came up with!! Ok well I actually stole it from a team who used to play in hudsons "crouching woman, hidden cucumber" ha ha ha. There are kids here - hope they are not too smart! Good night all around!

Happy Hogmany.
Octopus is completely full tonight so should be lots of fun. They are putting up a huge screen and playing music (along with the videos) from the 80's and 90's. Time to get what's left of the duty free out!
Went out snorkelling during the day which is great here. Lovely coral reefs and lots of fishes. Still not as good as Caye Caulker but I don't think anything will ever live up to that.
Before dinner we went on a sunset cruise, don't quite know why they call it that when we headed back before the sun set!!! However, we seen a hammer head shark! The guys on the boat said in all the years they have been here they have never seen one. It must have been sick as it was kind of floating side ways on the surface. When we drove up close it swam past up and was about 7 ft long - amazing!
Dinner was a huge seafood buffet - YUM YUM YUM is all I can say. You get fed so well here and I have definitely put on a few pounds, hopefully I will sweat it all off.
After dinner they played some games and then the music started. It is probably one of the best new years I have had. People are brilliant, place is amazing, music is hilarious. Ended up getting a wee bit drunk and at about 2 in the morning when most people had went to bed a group of us went down and sat on the beach. Drank some more and I had an urge to run into the water! Tried convincing everyone it would be fun but no one was up for it - tut tut tut!! After half an hour of my nagging they all agreed so we all stripped to our underwear and ran in. Only stayed in for about 5 mins then got out - wasn't as much fun as I thought it would be. After that most people went to bed, I got in a shower first and fell over in my drunken state. Lucky for me actually as I didn't feel the pain in my arm!
1st January 2009
Don't even have a hangover - YES! I even got up in time for breakfast. Rich, one of the guys we were sitting with last night, was still up! He hadn't gone to bed yet and was still drinking - impressive! He didn't go to bed until after lunch looking a bit worse for wear.
I talked everyone in to celebrating new years back home so at 12pm we got ourselves a lovley cocktail.
Participated in crab racing that night which was really funny until my stupid crab started running the wrong way.
I really love it here and want to stay forever!
