Darren is 40 today - HAPPY BIRTHDAY We are in Skiathos for the last time for a very long time. Skiathos is our favourite Greek island. Stayed down at Koukanaries so we could visit Banana beach. Sadly they've turned Banana beach into a something that wouldn't be out of place in Ibiza. Two bars blasting out music and the sunbeds were far too close - real shame as it was an amazing beach. Darren bought his jackets for our trip today, a lighweight rain coat and a very lightweight but warm jacket - both in the sale at Go Outdoors.

5 nights in New York booked. Urban Oasis - our first hostel. Thankfully it has 5 private rooms with shared bathrooms right by the Empire State Building.

Total nightmare with RTW experts. Not really experts. Cut a long story short, we need to set off a day earlier and now we are travelling via Tobago for 1 night at an additional cost of £300! Staying at Kia by The Beach which is just 5 mins walk from the airport.

We bought a wind up head torch each today. Wind it up for a minute and it gives you 40 minutes of light! Can be removed from the head band for a hand held torch. Perfect
