Rarawa was a great place to camp. We had a great nights sleep then woke up to a beautiful morning and ran along the stunning beach (cover photo) and had a swim in the sea! We drove to a lovely spot by a cluster of lakes. We stayed on Lake Kaiiwi. The bird there were so inquisitive as we set up. We had some dinner then swam in the lake just as the sun was setting, it was so warm and the water was so clear (not like in England!!) The next morning we woke up early and set off to the beach for breakfast as we really wanted to see the sea as we ha heard the roar of waves from the lake! We stopped at a town called Pahi for lunch as it had a Giant Moreton Bay Fig Tree it was massive! The base roots were as high as James! Waiheke - Atiu Creek We went for a lovely walk on Waiheke to some 'cascades' through the bush, it was an awesome beautiful walk, very rugged and remote. We camped our last night on the island with the site all to ourselves, right next to the beach! We woke up bright an early and caught the 7:30am ferry over to Aukland. Then we headed up north!!! We have spent the last few days on Waiheke Island. We found an amazing remote campsite in the Wakanewha Regional Park, perfect for our first stop in the van, right by a beach! Yesterday we went up to Stony Batter which is a historic reserve, we went into some WW2 emplacement tunnels which were really cool and really spooky!!
