cant believe yesterday we completed the longest single journey u can possibly do, 6000 miles and 7 time zones lol. it was an absolute mission!!! beijing is mint though, the climate feels so warm after moscow aswel. it just feels amazing to feel the breeze against ur skin and not have to be covered up. its still around 5-10 degrees though but it feels tropical to us lol. when we got to the hostel (down some backstreet, sort of a market type street) we realised we had no yuan (chinese currency) and we only had travs cheques. s***! we told the hostel guy. lee. and he walked outside and said "can u ride a bike" lol omg we were like. errrm, yes. we couldnt believe it. we hopped on a bike each, and he lead us through the centre of beijing in the middle of new yr celebrations to the bank. lol talk about in at the deepend. it was mental, dodging through crowds and nipping down little backstreets. what a start to our time in beijing. the crowds down the main street were huge, its public holidays all week cz the new yr in china lasts 5 days the lucky gits. so that ws a pretty awesome experience. since then 2day weve been to a chinese duck restaurant with the english couple we met on the train (they arent in our hostel but we met up) and had the famous and original 'peking duck'. it was well nice. then we went and had a beer and chatted for abiot then came back to a hoastel.also the old man we met on the train, called alasdair lives in beijing, weve become good friends with him and hes going to take us on a walk through the hills round beijing 2mro with felipe the portuguese guy. so hopefully we'll get to see some amazing site! anyway must be off, i'll update you whne i can!!
