Talvimaisemissa tekemista riitti, ja luntakin oli Pohjoisessa enemman kuin tarpeeksi. Aiti ja Pentti hakivat meidat Luulajan lentokentalta Ruotsin puolelta. For the first time in weeks we had set an alarm for the morning, we needed to be awake unreasonably early to get to the airport for 6:30am. The first flight of the day out of Kemi would take us to Helsinki for a weekend of catching up with with friends & family. The forecasted rain was coming down as snow but with the continued unseasonal 'high' temperature it wasn't replacing what had melted over the last 24 hours. The temperature had been gradually creeping up towards freezing point recently and by this morning it reached it. By the time sun came up around 10am, the mercury was going through the roof. Finland is a bit different when they talk about temperature, they use the word 'plus' when it's warmer than freezing...so today it was 'plus four'.
