We left Ko Chang yesterday for a very long day trip to Siem Reap in Cambodia which took over 12 hours and most of it on a very bumpy road and every 5 minutes, he was honking his horn. We got told that the Camboidan money had a better exchange rate than USD and no ATMs in Siem Reap but what a load of b******s and we worked afterwards, USD is better and he took about GBP40 comission off us. We were thoroughly pissed off about it yesterday but it is 1 of those world wide experiences which we learnt the hard way and couldn't believe we had been so foolish. Our last days in Koh Chang were spent getting bamboo tattoos (sorry Mum and Dad!!) It was a pure adrenaline spontaneous decision but must say looks very good. We both got our wedding date written in Thai, Lynne on her right hand and David on his right tricep. The very next day, Lynne decided to have something on her foot and got a wicked geko/ lizard with red eyes. We have attached the pictures now and hope they got through to you.
Cambodia - Last night sucked after finding out we had been ripped off but found a nice hotel with a very fast hot shoqwer (which you take for granted) for GBP12 per night. This morning we hired a tuk tuk which took us to Ankor Wat to visit the temples which were stunning. We spent all day here and even visited the one where Tomb Raider was filmed called Ta Phrom. We met some people along the journey so we are meeting them tonight for a few drinks and a bit of grub which should be a good laugh. It is avery weird experience here as it is very poor and the children are begging you for anything and pulling at your clothes. We have stayed firm and told them to go away which they seem to understand. You do see them working together at night on the pissed people and also on the rob (thieving little gits!!) Other than that, Cambodia is cool and we are maybe thinking of staying another night before we go to Laos.
