Hollywood! The home of the stars! I caught a bus from Vegas to LA which was about 6-7 hours long but only cost me $25 so it wasn't too much of a problem. I was pretty sad to leave Vegas as it was an amazing place to be. I got to LA around 5ish and caught the metro to my hostel which was right on Hollywood Boulevard which is where the Hollywood walk of fame is. The hostel was pretty rundown but it was only for two nights so it would do. There was a guy there who was organising a limo tour and night out in a Hollywood club, I didn't really fancy going out as I was still trying to get over Vegas but thought why not, I'm only in LA for a couple of nights. As it happened there wasn't enough people to do it so the night got called off, I was quietly pleased. I spent the evening chilling out watching the tv and catching up on my journal (because of Vegas it was a good few days behind!). The majority of the people in the hostel were either wannabe actors/mpvie stars working in Hollywood or celebrity hunters either way once you'd heard one of their stories you had heard them all.
The following day I got up early got myself some breakfast and took advantage of the free wi-fi at Starbucks to make sure that my flights and everything were ok for Hawaii - all good. I paid for a LA tour bus which takes you round 4 different routes in LA, Hollywood, Downtown LA, Universal Way and Santa Monica. I firstly took the Hollywood your which take you round Hollywood, through Beverely Hills and Rodeo Drive. It was quite interesting seeing some of the areas that have been used in films and stuff but the majority of the tour was where you can go celeb spotting and things like that. After you hear it once you do get a bit bored of it, unless you actually see someone famous which I didn't. I jumped out at the Beverley Centre shopping mall to have a look around and get myself a new book to read. I jumped back on the bus which looped back round to Hollywood Boulevard via paramount studios which was huge and the last big studios still in Hollywood. I took a walk down Hollywood Boulevard checking out all the stars on the walk of fame. It was pretty crazy around Michael Jackson's star there was people crying and leaving flowers and things like that. I walked right to the end to take a photo of the Hollywood sign and took a walk down the other side of the walk of the fame of the other stars. I took a second tour which went downtown which was really good finding out a bout the history of LA and stuff like that. I got back at about half 6 and got myself something to eat before chilling out in the hostel. My flight was pretty early so I got an early night. All in all I wasn't that impressed with Hollywood, maybe if I got the chance to go to out and about a bit more but I wasn't too fussed. Roll on Hawaii!!
