The Great Barrier Reef
No words, no pictures can describe or show just how amazing this world under the sea actually is. But as we like you so much we will give it our best shot.
When speaking to the travel agent to book our dives she recommended not going from the traditional spot in Cairns but going from Port Douglas instead, the best move we made. Haba our funky looking yellow and blue boat is one of only two boats that go to this particular dive spot. On the day we were the only boat and two of six Scuba Divers, where as if we went from Cairns it can be in the hundreds.
During our pre dive brief they explained about the reef and where we were going to be diving, Soph and myself were the least experienced divers in the group with one guy having done over 1000+ dives, and the photographer onboard told us she added her hours up to realise she has spent over 1 year underwater, pretty incredible im sure you will agree. So we have a good location and a good group, what can possibly go wrong..... Nothing... It was incredible... see the photos (which he hope do it some sort of justice) and you will understand.
Next stop, Atherton Tablelands which is inland from Cairns and basically lots of countryside and waterfalls
