VANG VIENG
After 3 days in Luang Prabang we got the local bus to VV across the mountains and it was a decent 6 hour journey with excellent views of Laos. Everyone we had spoken to about Laos told us that this was there favourite place & they told us that we might get stuck here so I was a little excited as to why & now I know why!!
They was myself, Phil, Brad, Tyson, Ferrer, Rob, Rick & Katrina travelling together & we landed & decent Hostel for 30,000 Kip a night which was 1 pound fifty each a night - happy days!!
The first day we were told to go Tubing which this place is famous for & we didn't know what to expect. Got a Tuk Tuk with our massive Rubber Ring to the Top of the Nam Song River & we had all day to do the Rappids which were next to the massive Limestone Mountains. When they dropped us off all we could here was loud musik everywhere with Bars on the River with Arial Rope Slides / Huge Swings / Slides / Zips / Diving Area's into the River which were all Free. This was the BEST Day I have had & we all got fully involved although I did poop my pants when I got to the top of these as they were really high but after a few goes it was none stop - I definately got my moneys worth. We only took Tyson & Ferrers Camera as it was Waterproof so when I get these Tagged to me & will share on here. Everyone was dancing on the platforms / around the fire / mud pool wrestling / playing vollyball / using all the free activities - absolutely wicked. All the Irish lads all dressed up as women & the atmosphere was really friendly & we met many people that were on the same SE Asia Loop as us & were also on the slow boat. I could go on forever about this but I won't.
On the nights it was also busy, everyone went to Bucket Bar between 7 - 10pm for Happy Hour. This was a crazy place with one massive fire in the middle of the dancefloor with Hammoks around the edges. We all just chilled & played cards & I wont lie I did knock out some moves some of the nights!! After that we all headed over the river to Jaidees Bar where they was a Happy Menu & we just had a bit of Banter & laughed most of the nights. This place is full of happy people - haha!!
Whilst at VV we also went to the Tham Jang Cave, Blue Lagoon & chilled out most days in a Riverside Hut on Sunset Bar having a dip, sitting in a hammok, having a smoke whilst Brad or Tom Played the Guitar.
We only planned to stay here for 3 days but ended up staying for nearly a week because this was a really chilled out place with nice friendly people, cheap prices & a good laugh. I could of stayed here for ages but we had to move on.
Our next stop was Vientiane!!
