Well we finally arrived after 3 hours on train to UK airport, 13 hours on the plane (where someone kept passing wind that smelt like rotten eggs and no it wasn't Darren for a change), 30 minutes through customs, 2 attempts at getting bus to Mongkok (we didn't have a ticket on the first try) and 40 minutes wandering around looking for the hostel that we were only 3-5 minutes away from.
Room is quite small and when they say with shower/toilet they mean just that as the shower is over the toilet. There seems to be a plumbing problem - the toilets dont flush! Apart from that it is okay.
We crashed for an hour last night when we arrived and then decided to go exploring with out the benefit of a map as we forgot to take one with us.
A few wrong turns later we found ourselves in the area where rooms are rented by the hour rather than the night and whole dead roasted ducks complete with heads where hanging by the windows.
Finally found a place to eat that had something on the menu that didn't look like it was still alive and wriggling and then spent ages trying to master chopstick eating - we are just pants at it but managed to shovel enough in to not go hungry.
The streets are just heaving with people even after midnight and there were loads of people waiting to use the ATM even at this time of night but come 8 o'clock this morning we were lucky to pass 20 people on our morning stroll.
We'll logging off now as we are going to try and find the harbour and go on the ferry to then go on the tram up the peak.
For now that's all
Darren and Davina
