So after leaving the big city of Sydney we headed to Byron Bay and bought tents and stayed in a hostel campsite that had hunderds of hippies who just didnt seem to want to leave the place. Was awesome place and met a wee python snake in the ladies showers.
We picked up the camper van and needless to say the boys were impressed with it being cheech and chong hehe! We've been working our way up the coast stopping at Nimbin, which is a little stoner town and again has proper wee hippies living there and then up to Noosa which is a surfing town. We've not had a chance to do surfing lessons but we did buy boogie boards and got smashed quite a few times by the waves. Darren and Andy been working on their tans so a good few lazy days on the beach. Headed up to Hervey Bay where the people watching was great in the pub, good few mental cases ;-)
Fraser Island was next on the cards and it was wicked, had a bit of walking through its rain forest and then wee treks to lagoons all over the island. It was absolutely stunning and we went on a plane ride over the Island and since I'm a big kid I bagsied front seat ;-) We seen a huge spider (in the photos) just hanging around at the top of the creek. Andy totally slags me too cause when the guy said that the ship wreck was built in Dumbarton I about peed my pants with excitement telling him thats where we're from.
We headed for Bundberg and went to the rum factory there and its the best rum ever, I'm in love. We never stayed there just headed back to Noosa again for a couple of nights out and ended up in Noosa's version of Nightmares and then Cheers.
Ended our trip off with Andy with a few wee days in Brisbane going to the Australia Zoo on route and then a day at Wet and Wild where the boys were excited about all the water rides/flumes and I just screamed my way round. Then a wee surprise night out with Matthew Carr last night which resulted in a few sneaky shots of Zambuca, plenty more flowing booze and many attempts at karaoke, even the bold Milldog graced the stage for a wee tune. Matthews version of Crocodile Rock stole the show though, funniest thing ever. Today we gave back the van said goodbye to Milldog and watched Finding Nemo in the hostel while still nursing our hangovers. Flying to Townsville tomorrow and hopefuly getting ourselves a wee job for a couple of months.
