Got into the Shinjuku area about 8:30 last night. Unbelievable concentration of little restaurants in a 1/2 mile distance from our hotel! Went for a late night bowl of Udon noodles before bed. Ready to attack the city this morning.

We made it! Japan Airlines rocks! If you are going to fly 11 hours across the Pacific, take this airline. Waiting for our limo bus to downtown Tokyo.

Last night of my trip, hanging out with the upper crust in Milan! Story when I get back.

The clouds cleared and the weather on my last full day on the Cinqueterre was absolutely perfect! Took a bus from Manarola to a town high up in the hills called Volastra, a little village of less than 200 people but it's been around since the 12th century. The trail weaves thru vineyards and forest for about 3 miles on a ridge with an almost 180 degree panoramic view of the Mediterranean and the coastal towns.
