Week 4 - Beach Week Ko Samet
27th January - Ko Samet
early start this morning as we have a long coach trip down south to the island. we took a short ferry across to the island and chacked into our hotel before hiting the clear waters and white sands of the beach
started my padi diving course to day watched 5 dvd and did loads of theory then spent the afternoon revising.
was very excited when i woke up this morning as i would be doing my 1st dive. however i was very dissapointed when i turn up and found the istructor had had an accident and there was noone else to teach me. the end of my diving gutted. spent the day on the beach instead.
30th january - Boat trip
we wlaked to the peir to catch the boat to see the island from sea. we stopped several times to go snorkling. the waters were clear and there were lots of fish and sea life. which i attempted to photograph using my under water camera case. we also tried our hand at fishing and caught a few. there was a period when i was rather ill as well. lol we also stopped at a fish farm there were lots of fish and turtles all sizes and colours. we went out for dinner to night as we couldnt face rice again.
another day sunbathing but the weather wasnt great it even rained. however it was our big night out for laurens birthday. so we dressed early and hit the bars straight after food. several cocktails later and alot of dancing we headed for ko samets only club on the other side of the island. it was very posh. with lots of frewe champaign. we stayed there till the early hours, and stopped for a dip in the sea on the way to bed. it was a great night lots of fun.
final day on the island and what better way top spend it than sunbathing seen as it had decide4d to reappear from the clouds. in the evening zoe and i headed to the floating resturant for a romantic meal for 2 seen as noone else was willing to come. we arrived at the shore and rang a bell. a little boat came to fetch us. the resturant was on stilts in the sea. the tables made of class with cut out bottoms so your feet dangled into the sea and you could watch the fish below. it was a very nice setting and good food too. a very pleasent evening to end the trip.
thailand has come to an end. the time has gone so quick. we leaft the island and were dropped back in bangkok. i will go and visit the grand palance tomorrow before i fly to oz. i will be sad to leave but will deffinatley come back in the future as there is so much more to see.
