The wait at Hong Kong was long to say the least. Our flight wasn't delayed, we just arrived there quite early.
The flight duration was around thirteen hours. When we got to Heathrow we went to collect our bags. 8 months and several countries and all our stuff has been fine. We get into London with home in spitting distance, and my bag has been ripped. Awesome.
We then had around 6 hours to kill before our coach journey down to Devon. It was absolutely freezing in the coach station and our coach was delayed by about an extra half an hour. Due to that delay, after the 5 hour journey down to Exeter, we had missed our connecting coach to Teignmouth and so we had to catch the normal bus with all our bags in tow.
When we got back to Teignmouth rather than phone for a lift, we decided to catch a taxi home to continue the suprise for everyone. But being a rainy Monday evening at knock off time we found ourselves waiting for a while.
Finally, after around 33 hours of travel, we had made it home. It is a nice feeling to be home but now that we are home it barely feels like we have been away, strange really. It's funny that after travelling half way around the world with barely a hitch, that the journey home was so crap. Still I'm glad the crapness was saved until the end and it didn't spoil the fact that we have had a truly excellent adventure and no one can take away our memories of that.
THE END?
