So,
My first bank holiday since being back in Singapore and I certainly didnt intend on wasting it. This time around the desitnation was Koh Samet (Thailand) where I intended to relax, party and just forget about work for a bit. For this trip I met up with my friend Vickie who is currently teaching in Bangkok, she also brought along a few mates, so this trip was definitely going to be a good one.
Due to Koh Samet being so North, the weather there tends be hot most of the year and it does not get too badly hit by rain like other parts of Thailand, so this meant glorious sun for the entire 3 days - perfect.
The island is pretty much as you'd expect, lovely white sands, beach huts and of course buckets. I hadnt had one of those since I was in Thailand a few years back for a mates stag trip, so I was due to be reuinted, and we certainly did.
To be honest, most of the trip was spent relaxing on the beach, having lovely thai food then partying at night, so Im sure you dont want to just hear about that, day after day....I will however say, that if you are ever over this side of the world, this place is worth a check. Sure, you can go down south to phi phi etc and there it wil lbe even more crazier, but if you want something a bit quieter, with a hint of party of a vibe, then pay it a visit!
Hope the enlgish summer isnt too hot for ya! ;-)
Next stop for me - Cambodia.
