Caught a late bus from Acton through to Victoria, at nearly 2am. Caught the 3am train out to Gatwick airport and checked in without too much trouble. Somewhere between breakfast and boarding the plane my boarding pass went amiss, so was the last person on, although thankfully still got window seats and made it down to Corfu without too much trouble.
Got through to the very small airport and caught a bus through to the port, a little hesitant if a ferry was leaving or not. Thankfully one was 20mins after I was there, so purchased the ticket and jumped straight on. Took about 1.5hrs, and the weather was lovely and warm with a nice breeze blowing through, was good just to relax for a while. Got to Igoumentsia at around 2.30pm and no sign of the others, plus my phone had no signal. Went for a walk around, had lunch then a few drinks and patiently waited. 5.30 came around and started to get a bit concerned that the vans had no arrived. Managed to go to a bar and download skype on my phone where I finally got in touch with them. Turned out the Greek border guards were on strike, so no vehicles were crossing through the border. Made my way to a taxi stand and took a cab to the border, got there and then still no sign of anyone. Was chatting to some friendly people from Albania who let me use their phone, got in touch with the others who had gone back in to find a campsite and eventually picked me up 30mins later at about 7pm. Got a bit lost making our way back to the campsite and drove through the town several times before finally finding it at around 8.30pm. Had some cold leftover pasta for dinner and a quick chat to the others before heading off to bed for the night. Just had a small 3 person tent, with just two of us in there, so plenty of room, although a little uncomfortable on the hard floor!
