Right, a quick flight in the RAIN! and we arrive in the capital.
A visit to the pre paid taxi counter and we are on our way through the madness of Delhi. We decided to jump out at the first place we recognised from the bible (lonely planet) called main bazar. Tired and wanting a rest we fall upon the Vivek hotel. Nice and central so we check in and head out on the hunt for food.
Over a plate of yes, more veg we catch sight of the local news.... ' 8 bombs go off in Delhi' s***, what the hell have we got ourselves into! After watching for a few mins and asking the waiter to translate we decide that a phone call home to the parents is needed to let them know we are ok. Watching further we realise that the bombs have all gone off in major tourist areas and lucky for us we were ok. We settle back in the hotel with the tv on for the latest updates.
In the morning we prepare for a day with the internet. We needed to plan our route for the next few weeks as we didnt want to lose out on transports like we did in Goa. Whilst Dan googles away i take a break and go for a stroll down the local market (not shopping mum). On route i managed to get talking to a travel agent and 3 hours later i have detail of hotels, transport, prices and a private driver. We check out our deal with other agents and decide to pop back to Shafi to book the trip. Whilst we are paying we are informed that there are a london based crew over and they are filming in Delhi that night. We are asked if we wouldnt mind going along as they needed extras for their final shoot.
After dinner, we popped down to the 'Cottage Yes Please' where we were greeted by a full crew and led upto the roof garden. A few drinks, face paints, lights and dodgy music tracks later and we are all dancing around like we are hippies on a beach. Not a bad way to leave Delhi.
