Another couple of days, another couple of stamps in the passport....Flew over to Buenos Aires yesterday from Rio, via Sao Paolo. The flight was delayed by about two and a half hours, which was slightly worrying as there was a chance I might miss the connecting flight in Sao Paolo. But the girl at the info desk said ´no problem, they will wait´ ... and they did. The views of Rio from the plane taking off were amazing, as were the ones of Sao Paolo - a massive sprawling city which goes on for miles and has 100s of tower blocks and doesn´t seem to have any parks. The last day in Rio was great, the Maracana was good, but what really impressed me was the Samba City. This was basically a big shed complex where all of the floats for the carnival are made - I can only say that there are some creative geniuses working on them as they looked amazing. Apparently they spend all year doing it, so its like a full time job! Sampled the nightlife and the atmosphere is something else, just people everywhere on the street dancing.
Now in Buenos Aires, not seen much yet but did have an superb steak (which came with a 1litre bottle of beer!) last night. Off to Boca Juniors tomorrow night, should be good. Anyway, best dash, but hope everything is ok back home. Apols for the lack of photos so far but having problems downloading them, will sort that soon.
