So back again, haha. wow. I've been preoccupied with many interesting & challenging creative endeavours(Byebellefashion launch,'New Edge 'large scale collaborative shoot, nude photography, 'Gothic technicolour' shoot, some very cool retouch jobs as well as my continued web coding training with an awesome mentor & statistic analysis) as well as my graduation trip to Townsville that ended in being stranded in Rubyvale for a month, an impromptu road trip to Sydney, a much needed getaway to the Sunshine coast & Nimbin & another winter road trip to Townsville. so have had little time to backdate my world/domestic travels as I pre-planned . Soon no doubt. I was inspired to get back into bloggin by a great mate, I actually forgot Imade this!
My personal/medical life has endured quite a bit of turbulence over the last 7 months I have spent in my hometown Bundaberg. It was great to confront a lot of my past here (a task which I had thought I'd already done) to make way for a new & exciting future. I was also very grateful to be here when the flooding disaster was at its worst to help salvage the family farm and see natures changes to the city- we now have a beachy riverfront. The damage was unfortunate, but was amazing to see humanities kindness before any exploitation.
I travelled to Brisbane to contribute to the clean up & checked up on my brothers house in indoorpilly. The was one of the most rewarding experiences an really inspire me, also a great opportunity to get some profound photojournalistic pics. He was a lot luckier than most people on his street, having the water lapping the bottom of his 2nd story floorboards. unfortunately a lot of his work (he was an electrical engineer) was submerge as well as the solar panel car he was building. The car and 30,000 worth of electronics was destroyed. but being the resilient person he is, he has already started working towards a new'Magnatron' to be built.
Catching up with some very good old friends has also been an added bonus. Next year will be our 10 year high school reunion, has it really been that long?? It was interesting seeing how the cities changed over the last 7 years, equally as interesting as the things that seem to stay the same.
But I am ready to move onto my next destination, which is looking like Brisbane. I have never live there, but visited quite a lot, good times to be had, wicked people to reconnect with and the neon energy of 'alive' cities that I miss. I imagine I'll stay there a year while completing Honours, and then finally Melbourne!
