Morning... Well good morning because last night was super awesome (no we did not you know hmm hmm) but we did enjoy the fire and the stars and something about camping agrees with Damien coz he doesn't snore as much. This makes for a happy Tash :-)
Thing is though - it is really really really [email protected]@@en cold here this morning so we are going to pack up real quick and get on the road. 2 things I have to look forward to at this moment (6.30am moment hmm).
1. Heater in the car
2. Today I get to shower at a truck stop woohoo!!!!!!!!
Ok, I've had my shower (for the bargain price of $2.00 at a Caltex service station) and my ham, cheese and tomato toastie (healthiest option at the truck stops) and am ready to face the day. Of course facing the day requires Damien and I to get the map out and decide which way we are going to head. Now you all know from yesterday that this does not necessarily mean we will end up where we choose right now, but after my constant teasing of the driver nazi yesterday about changing the direction which actually cost us time on our make up time day, he will not be making that same mistake again. And I am being punished because now we are on another make up time day (yeah I know, why am I being punished??? I'm not driving he he he he).
So I am looking at the map and I ain't seein nothin. Don't get me wrong, I don't mean something touristy that appeals to me, I mean nothing.
Today we drive (insert first real, I mean really genuine smile, from the driver nazi) because I can't see a valid reason to stop for anything. I would sulk now but I see no point. Driver nazi is in the car and ready to go (took about 45 seconds I think). Sooooooo because today will provide nothing of any interest (to anyone - you or me) we decided to head to Tamworth for the night coz I wanna get me some boots and go scootin. ... That isn't really the reason, Damien has cousins in Tamworth and as we are able to fit it in time wise (yeah since there will be No stops- "no soup for you" Seinfeld episode runs through my head and I giggle) and will be really close to there we decide this is today's plan of attack.
Ok the scenery is really lovely blah blah blah blah you've heard it all in previous blogs so I shall concentrate in doing the driver nazi's head in today and not blogging. You will be relieved - he will not :-)
Ok, we found the taj mahal of accomodation in Tamworth. These people really don't understand the concept of budget accommodation based on this room! As we refuse to make Bailey sleep in the car (ok you all know us and Bailey, this is never going to happen) we had had to pay a tarrif everywhere for him to enter the hallowed domain of the inside area. In Tamworth, they would be more disgusted if they walked past your room and saw the dog in the car. Anyhoo, for the first time since we left we had a door between the bed and the lounge. Now, for those of you that had been to our house, it was huge. (wayyy to big if you ask me, actually I would tell you that even if you didn't ask). Which made it hilarious when we were looking at this 2 room small demountable and remarking that we could live in this. It just goes to show you what happens when you spend too much time on the road!!!!
Anyway, it would appear that this is our last night on the road. We are now within 1 days distance of Brisbane. I am really feeling mixed emotions about this. I am excited for the start of our new chapter together and the main reason for this is that it includes Tyler and Jamie (Damien's daughters) whom we have really missed since they moved Sydney then Brisbane. But I just got my [email protected]@t together in Perth and will miss the wonderful people that I have the pleasure to call friends. But life is an adventure and this journey has been mapped out as destiny for us and ultimately for me - I cannot wait to see what is next.
So people, we are off to have a wonderful evening with family (I hope they like me) and I shall let you know about it all tomorrow.
Lights out .... Goodnight (sort of :-))
