We have just got back from a 3-day visit to Ha Long Bay. It's a bay made up of 2000 (ish!) islands, of which the majority are uninhabited. We took a junk boat and started cruising around these islands, jumping off the boat, getting some sun! Our first stop was at the "AMAZING CAVE" which was pretty amazing, much like wookey/cheddar caves on a grand scale half way up a cliff! We slept in cabins on the boat that night, and drank under the stars!! In the morning we went kayaking around some of the islands, finding little coves until we ended up on a beach, paradise! In the afternoon we went to one of the bigger islands, Cat Ba, where we took mountain bikes around the local villages, which was absolutely brilliant, even better on a mountain bike, haven't rode one for years! The last day was unfortunately mostly made up of going back to hanoi and nursing sunburn! I can't believe we've seen so much already and it's only been a week. We're both looking forward to plenty more adventures like this one.
