Cruise 2019
We took the coast to coast tour from the west coast (Bridgetown - Caribbean Sea) over the highlands to the east coast (Atlantic). Caribbean coast is location of most of the beaches and resorts and has calm waters. The Atlantic coast has big surf. Fairly lush but not a lot of agriculture other than some sugar cane. Most of the fields are likely in lower areas. Resorts on the Caribbean can be very exclusive (up to $20,000 a night). Tourism is the major industry (one million visitors a year), with sugar the second activity. Bridgetown is a well-developed town with all of the services. The town is not near the cruise ship terminal so our tour just did a drivethrough.
