Out past Prematura right now, exploring Rt. Kamenjak, a little piece of wilderness which explains why I'm stuck on a mountain bike. Not sure if I'm a fan but the parks a little too big to explore on foot. Got into Pula last night and found a place to stay and crashed early. Today I'm out doing the wilderness thing and I'll explore Pula tonight. From what I've seen its not really that pretty of a city but it is central to everything I'm planning on seeing as well ...

So, radical change in plans yesterday. I was talking to one of the girls who works at the hostel and she was telling me how the weather at Plitvice National Park gets chancier in November because it's inland so I did an about face and headed there yesterday. Made a couple friends on the bus, Chris and Mike, and today I'm headed on a short hike with them towards the north of Zagreb that ends in a castle. Which means one more night at the Hobo Bear and Samobor fall...

Got into Zagrab yesterday without a hitch and headed for the Hobo Bear, my home while I'm in the city. Today was for walkabouts and the city is compact enough that I managed most of it. It's actually quite a pretty city with a local marketplace to die for. You can definitely feel the bite of fall in the air though. Tonight I'm headed out to an old soviet place for dinner, and tomorrow it's a day trip out to a small country town called Samobor for some hiking!

Well, I'm proud of myself. Found a decent hostel without too much trouble last night, getting off the bus at 2 in the morning and no guide book to run off of. Spent today exploring the city because I figure I may as well while I'm here, and I've already bought my train ticket to Zagreb for tomorrow. The one thing driving me nuts? What is the point of having a currency where the soda costs a hundred dinars? Why do they not compact that? I have 1000 dollar notes in...

Well, I'm pretty much done with Thessaloniki. I spent today out and about without a map, and have learned the main streets well enough to not get lost. Really the main things here are shopping and sweet shops, and as I still have a month to go, I am NOT shopping yet, it's just more things to carry. As for the sweet shops, wow, but I seriously need to start exercising some self control or I'll be headed straight to the gym when I head home...not something I plan t...
