Down the Rabbit Hole.
Dublin, Ireland
So it's been almost 13 months since the stereotypically disappointing New Years Eve on which Nic and I concocted the beginnings of the idea which became the six months we're about to embark on. Lots of late night calls, far too many injections, random text messages containing only the work "Eek", an unhealthy obsession with the lonely planet website and a really, really ugly pair of walking shoes later and we're finally off. Almost.
We're currently in Dublin airport having endured tearful goodbyes from our respective mothers and a 100 mile journey with Big Liam during which he told us all the things we should really try not to do when we're away. Getting arrested was a big one. Anything involving motorbikes was another. Fun times.
So now we're in the bar. Because an airport departure lounge is one of the few places where it's kind of socially acceptable to drink before noon. And Nic has developed an irrational fear of flying so I'm trying to inebriate her.
Over-excited is an understatement. First stop Dubai.
See ya on the other side...
