These are Romeo’s roommates, Aurora, Hermoine, Harry, and Rainbow. They came to CCF when they were less than 6 months of age, so due to this and their comfortability being around people, they would not survive on their own in the wild. They would most likely approach people and start a human-wildlife conflict. This is typical for cheetahs before the age of 6 months because they do not learn important skills from their mother such as who are predators, what is prey, and how to hunt. Their instincts alone cannot allow them to survive in the wild, and females do not form coalitions for hunting such as males do. A little bit about Hermoine and Harry is that they are from the same litter, and have a brother Ron. Harry was accidently mistaken as a boy but still keeps his name. Aurora was found on the side of the road by a farmer, and she had four siblings that had the strength to run away, but Aurora was too weak to move; the mother was no where to be found. Rainbow was a house pet that was confiscated. As for what they eat, they eat donkey or horse meat because CCF does not want to hunt game animals and deplete the resources for other predators near/on CCF. Instead, by purchasing retired donkeys and horses, they can feed all 37 cheetahs as well as contribute to Namibia’s economy!
