Hi,
Just got to KL from Singapore. Singapore is a beautiful city, we had a lovely walk around in the sunshine yesterday, there's not a great deal to do other than walk around and spend a fortune in the shopping malls. We went on a night safari, walking around and travelling on a tram in a rain forest in the dark spotting animals. We went for a curry seeing as were staying in 'Little India', the restaurant was called The Banana Leaf Apolo, we ate our dinner off a banana leaf and everyone around us was eating with their hands (we chose a fork). The hostel was very good for meeting people and we felt like we were back at Uni again.
We left on the bus this morn at about 8.30am and got to KL at about 6pm. We may have got through passport control quicker if Darren hadn't 'lost' his departure ticket. It meant we were taken in a back room and he then found it in his pocket!!! When we got to Johar Bahru to catch the connecting bus we were mobbed by people trying to get us on their bus, we ended up getting on the first one we saw after streessing about where to go for about 15 mins. On arrival to KL, the bus driver - after already taking a de-tour to drop some of his mates off in another part of town - dropped us off in the middle of nowhere! We got some wrong directions off a Dutch couple and a local man. Anyway we found our way in the end. KL is very hectic and hard to find your way around but its great seeing new places. We're gonna have a wander around tomorrow and see the twin towers but pretty much have a quiet day. Not long till we get to the beach, we're off to Bali on Monday. We've already lost track of the days and we've only been away for a week. Everyone we meet is friendly and its good to hear where people have been and where they are going next, picking up ideas on the way.
We hope everyone is well!
Love Darren and Clare
