Arrived late last night into Monteverde, in much cooler wheather than Tamarindo and suddenly now I am in the mountains. Beautiful but a bumpy and windy ride ...
Today I was booked on a Ziplining tour as part of my Bamba Buspass. The name of the company had me slightly worried " Canyoning Extremo " didn´t sound too enticing given the fact that I am slightly afraid of hights.
I figured I would just go there and see what it was and if it freaked me out too much I would just go back into town. The first lines where fine over the treetops so I couldn´t see how high up we actually where. But then as we progressed the lines got longer and longer and where higher and higher above the ground and over open canyons. There was no turning back at that point so had to do it - can´t say I enjoyed much of the views though admittedly had my eyes closed for the remainder of the ziplines. ESPECIALLY the last one, called the " Superman " ( because they hung you up by your legs as well ) As I hadn´t chosen to do that I didn´t think I had to do it, but that just meant I had to do it sitting normally with another person. It was 90 m above ground and a 1000 meters long, beeing strapped onto a hysterically screaming Japanese girl didn´t make it any less scary !
