Day 56 - Flew to Cairns We drove to Brisbane from Texas (3.5 hrs) then got the 9:30pm flight to Cairns (2 hrs). We were heading to Cairns to surprise a mate for her 30th Birthday. She was heading to Cairns from Perth to meet up with her sister and had no idea that we were heading there as well. It was an awesome surprise!! Day 48-50 - Rowena feedlot We were given the opportunity to go to a different feedlot in NSW for 4 days a fortnight…basically we'd be going there to relieve the other 2 workers so they could have some days off. Day 32 - 47 Work, work and more work. We have just been lending a hand wherever they need us around the feedlot. We are mostly in the induction shed, where you process all the new cattle (tagging, vaccines etc). We help vet crew treating the sick cattle…this can be a bit dangerous when you are pushing up because the sick cattle are quite temperamental. Day 31 - New Years Eve We headed to the Inglewood Rodeo. The barrel racing was cancelled unfortunately because it was too hot. We got there around 5pm and the temperature was still ~45 degrees!! We stayed for the first half of the bull riding but hot temps means dry, dry, dry = heaps of dust!!! So after downing a few beers, watching people get thrown off bulls and ingesting a $h!t tonne of dust we headed home….asleep by 11pm …woooo go us!

Day 26 We organized the house some more and Kuba sorted out some electrical gremlins he had with the stereo in the car.
