I have decided to by a bus ticket all the way to Ho Chi Minh City stopping of in Hue, Hoi An, Nha Trang, Dalat and Muine along the way. So my first trip is a 14 hour overnight bus ride to Hue. The bus is surprisingly good; I think it's a little bit like the Harry Potter night bus. You sleep in rows with your feet under the next persons head. Being South East Asia though it's not exactly designed for anyone over 5 foot. So probably much less comfortable for the taller guys. All in all I am quite impressed and although not great sleep I get enough rest to enjoy the next day.
I am on the same bus as Marianne from the Hanoi Hostel and we decide to travel together for a while. When we arrive in Hue we head to The Citadel, a very impressive place. It seems to be a walled area surrounded by a moat with another area inside surrounded by another moat. It's just off the side of the Perfume River, I'm not really sure why it has this name, I can't say I noticed any kind of smell. In the evening we meet up with Kim and Nina and head off for an Indian. I think it is my first Indian meal since India and I eat way too much.
The next day we are heading off on a motorbike tour of the local area, we stumbled across this company the day before and end up having a brilliant day. We are joined by Konia, who is German but lives in Scotland. On the trip and visit many Pagodas, Tombs and wonderful little villages. It really is the best way to explore the area and see all the different places.
