Chris's American/Mexican adventure
Leryna and I are enjoying the bay area, we are staying at her Dads place just out of Cotati in the Sonoma Valley.
We went to some lovely vineyards and tried some wine tasting in the Sonoma Valley Vinyards.
Tried some excellenty wines and found thye quality excellent and easily comparable to new Zealnd Sauvignon Blancs and Chardonnays., which surprised me but the climate this far north is similar to New Zealand.
Visited Alcatraz Prison on the ferry , China town and Fishermans Wharf, and also the Haight Ashbury area ...the So called area of the flower power Era.
Also went to Bodega Bay for the day and the beach and wharf are there. Had a nice Calamari there on the wharf.
Visited friends in San Mateo and also went to a bar in Cotati to have a few beers and listen to some blues.
Some things are so cheap here.
There are wild deer wandering outside the house and wild turkeys too.!!!!????
This area of California is not very populated and most sections are little to large farmlets.
The motorways are huge here and the volume of traffic huge.
Went to Sonoma town and had a look at some of the old Spanish buildings which had been preserved and some had been built in about 1840.
Enjoying my stay in San Francisco and may stay put here til I go home back to New Zealand.
