We got our beach time after Bangkok on an island in eastern Thailand called Ko Chang. It is lovely - so lovely thatb we eneded u staying there for 10 days rather than the 3 we had planned - whoops! Hited a motorbike and explored the island and went out on a day's snorkelling trip to a marine park. Saw loads of coral and tropical fish (no sharks).
