Its seems like ages ago, but we touched down in Bangkok last week...flight was pretty cool, but we managed to hail down the dodgiest taxi ever, was a bit of a miracle we even got to our hostle...but from then on it has been amazing...Our hostel is really nice and have already met some wicked people...on our first night we went to savour the delights that Bangkok had to offer, with 3 other guys (James from Australia, Al from Canada, nd Brad from USA) from our Hostel...kinda last minute decision as we were kinda jet-lagged...but it was James' last night after 18months of travelling, so we made the most of it....ended up having a wicked night...went to the ping pong show, which was an eye opener indeed in a scarily freaky way...then went out to a few bars to play a bit of pool
Decided to go to Koh-Pha Ngan, the Island where the Full Moon Party was happening the next day...Brad decided to join us last minute...so we took another eventful taxi ride there...getting involved in a two-wheel altercation with the pavement along the way...managed to get the sleeper bus (sooo uncomfortable) nd then the boat to Koh-Pha Ngan...which was around 29hrs in total
The Island was unbelievably beautiful...turquiose sea...amazing view of the ocean from our Bungalows...decided to have my first shot at Sunbathing...and watched a few amazing sunrises and sunsets...i do like my sunsets...!!! Was such a change from the over-populated and poluted nature of Bankok. Chilled out with Ed and a guy called Jon, from Bristol, who we met when we got of the boat. Pretty much chilled out that first day on the Island, cos the next day was the night of the Full Moon Party...was amazing, 5,000 people on a beach having an awesome time...and that was during low season apparently...!!! We went down to the party with Brad and this guy called John.
Me nd Ed stayed up till about 8am that day, really suffering from a messed up body clock, though we managed to catch the sunrise which was pretty special...but that was the most exciting part of our adventure up to now...felt really sad when i left the Island cos I loved the chilled out atmosphere about the place...nd the people there were so friendly
Endured another excruiating days travel in the hot sun on the boat and then through the night time bus...didnt eat that entire journey, cos the food at the bus-stops weren't that inviting...got back to Soi-1 for our final day in Thailand
Decided to do some last minute sightseeing on a Tuk-Tuk to savour the sights of the city...unfortunately, the Golden Palcae was closed, so we went to see the Lucky Buddha and another Buddhist temple at Wut Hua Lapong...got a few Thai phrases from our driver for good measure...but by the time we headed back, the heavens opened...dogs, cats...everything and we got drenched in a monsoon...was an amazing sight and the thunder scared the living daylights out of us...within half an hour the streets had started to flood...we had to wade through the 'river' on foot to get to our hostel...by the time the rain had stopped, the road outside our hostel had flooded with rain up to the engines of cars...even the locals were suprised...which is never a good sign...Got home and had my first meal in 29hrs (apart from a bag of Minstrels)...!
