It was 5.30am start and we were the first to be picked up by our tour guide, Todd...it was to be the start of a beautiful 3-day friendship...we were told there would be 5people on the tour including us, the tour can usually cater for 21...so we headed over to pick up another guy called Matt, from, you've guessed it, Bromley...and a Frenchman, called Manuel and a girl from Switzerland called Madeliene...it was a pretty quiet 1st leg as everyone was tired...we ...

We took the Ferry down to the Island...took around 25mins, but had the most nonchalant safety demo ever...had the Scissor Sisters playing in the background, while he was giving us life-saving instructions...The Island itself was so beautiful...basically there are no people living there, just essential staff and no cars...just tourists on bikes...there were some amazing views and loads of deserted beaches...we decided to take a walking tour to Oliver's Hill lo...

Checked out early on fri...loaded our backpacks and headed to Fremantle, which is about 45mins south of Perth by train...the hostel had a similar feel to Perth...but definately had less groups, so people were far more friendly...Fremantle itself is a lot smaller then Perth, but seemed to have more people about...but think thats because it was the weekend...there is a whole line of cafe's with people dining Al fresco...very classy...we went round the Fremantle...

We took our first non-eventful taxi ride to the Underground Backpackers Hostel in Northbridge, tho at 2am in the morning it was a virtual ghost town...its a much bigger place than the one in bangkok, with a bar, pool table, pool and kitchen...the next day was a write-off for me...lack of sleep, travelling and not much food had finally caught up with me...and i spent most of the day in bed Thankfully that was just a minor blip...since then its been a rollacoaster ...
