YOU DON'T NEED EYES TO SEE YOU NEED VISION.....
A South America Sum Up
What an amazing experience! How far I have come mentally and emotionally since touching down in Lima on 12th May. I have experienced and done so much it feels like I have been away forever. Machu Picchu, the Inca Trail, the Amazon, Galapagos, Swimming with Penguins and sea lions, Horses!, Mozzie bites, Abseiling, Airoplanes, Hostels and smelly hair. Scalding water to no water, personal alarms to personal safety, sniffer dogs to sicky children, smiling locals to laughing drunks, a diet of crackers and musli, tears of laughter and tears of lonliness, sea sickness to home sickness, a roller coaster to a baptism of fire.
As I leave the 'no toilet paper down the lav rule, wild horses running through the streets, random and bizzare food combinations, millions of mangy dogs and cats, the pan pipes, disgusting hostels and pisco sours, stalls of tat, hisses of desire and friendly 'holas' from the back of motor cycles and finally the gases of Chile to the mountain air of Mendoza', I can feel satisfied in the knowledge, at least for me, that South Amercia has been done right from the laughs of Buenos Aires to the fears of Ecuador. I have gained masses of personal growth, made friends and made memories.
I did what I set out to do. I have an overwelming sense of freedom and empowerment all mixed with just a tiny touch of pride. As cheesy as it sounds, the bottom line is that 'I felt the fear and did it anyway'. Bring on the Kiwi experience!!!
