As we left Koh Tao the weather was still pretty shocking...to get to Phuket we had to get two ferries and a six hour bus drive. Our first ferry was possibly the scariest experience of my life.... The waves were so incredibly high. The journey was a nightmare. 1 hour 30 mins of people either crying or being sea sick.. It was like being on a ride our stomaches were continuously flipping.. Luckily we arrived safety to koh phanghan where we were meant to be changing ferries onto mainland Thailand. Sophie and I decided that it wasn't worth us getting onto another ferry as it didn't seem safe so we stayed on koh phangan and weighed up our decisions . We ended up getting a taxi to a hostel which we stumbled across by a taxi man. The place was pretty grim only costing us £3 for the night.. We stayed there the night while rearranging our travels. We decided to skip southern Thailand and head north to Chiangmai as the weather forecast was still bad and we wanted to be able to do things rather then sitting around waiting for it to stop raining while on the islands ... So we booked our ferry from, Koh phangan to Koh samui in the morning as the weather looked better then and them we booked a flight from koh Samui to Bangkok the onwards to Chiang Mai ... It's was a long day travelling and waiting around but 12 hours after leaving Koh phangan we made it to Chiang Mai safe and sound.. We checked into our little guest house which was so cute. The lady on reception instantly made us feel welcome and showed us loads of things to do while in Chiang Mai. We got up upgraded to a better room which was pretty special. We had hot water, a pink room, fresh towels, a fridge and a tv.. It felt amazing to have such normal things again.. We even had free tea, coffee and toast with jam available 24 hours a day... The aggro of yesterday was so worth it being here and we knew we had made the right decision ... That evening we headed out to the Sunday night market which was so worth the visit . I munched on a huge corn on the cob for dinner off the street vendors while walking for 4 km up and down the market.. It was buzzing full of people and different stools ... Our plans for the next few days in Chiang Mai consisted of visiting tiger kingdom and spending a day with elephants in the jungle which I cannot wait for.. Pictures and a new blog to come over the next few days of that too ...
