So today is the last day of the tour. The tour group has left to return to England and I'm waiting for my train back to Grenoble. Paris has been incredible! Yesterday, after a beautiful drive through the Swiss Alps with gorgeous mountain and lake views, we arrived in Lucerne around 3:00pm. Upon arrival, we saw a huge carving on a rock face of a betrayed lion. The lion represents fallen Swiss soldiers during the French Revolution. Today was a great day! We arrived to Venice from our hotel at around 11:00am and had a walking tour. It was great to discover all of the pathways, canals and bridges. The city is very rich in architecture and it is very beautiful to walk around. It looks like a giant post card or a green screen because it is so spectacular! Last night, we arrived in Munich at around 5:00pm and had a walking tour around the city. The tour guide was a young Canadian guy who showed us landmarks and explained some history of the city, and he was really funny too so it kept the tour interesting for the hour and a half (even in the -5 degree weather). Last night, we arrived in St Goar, Germany around 6:30. The drive in was very beautiful along the Rhine valley. There were vineyards and lots of hilltop castles. The Rhine valley is the area that Riesling wine comes from. So after our dinner of beef and spatzle, we headed down the road to a 17th century wine cellar for a wine tasting.
