NAMASTE!!
Arrived pretty much unscathed in Kathmandu, although there were quite a few near death experiences along the way let me tell ye! these roads are absolute chaos like nothing i've ever seen! i've only been here 2 days now and i've seen a few people been hit with motorbikes, rickshaws and vans but surprisingly no one is seriously hurt.
This first blog entry will be short as i am just testing out the tiny 3-computered (quite manky) cyber cafe along the road and trying to upload some photo's, even though its telling me it will take 11 hours to do so, im giving it a go! :D its only 50 rupees an hour whch is like 50p- but it takes like 45 minutes to start internet exlorer so i'll see how far i get! maybe try and find somewhere else next time...
But the Nepalese are wonderful people, extremely welcoming and hospitable, especially considering we are in the tourist section of the country. The town is fabulous, but at this stage its stll difficult to take in everything around you as you are constantly dodging huge potholes and on-coming traffic and people from every direction! so still finding my way around the town, which is odd with no street names and every street looks the same with a million shops/stalls but i'm getting there! had my first staple nepali meal of Dahl Batt today and had my first taste of Tibetan cuisine last night- momo's are delish!
I wont go into any exciting details this time, as next time i will bring my travel journal and fill you in...
okay till next time!
Namaste xx
