Didn't sleep well at all last night! Just people coming in late, people going out in the middle of the night and work starting early outside! So didn't wake up feeling too fresh.
The Kiwi Experience didn't start too well either. It said on my timetable to wait at 8:00am to be picked up, but I was told by my hostel it was 8:20. The bus didn't turn up until 8:40, and when it did I was still worrying as everyone had a ticket bar me! Thankfully my ID did the trick but it was all a bit of an army morning faf.
Once on the bus got to know a few people including a dude called Josh. Seams cool! Then chilled out on the way to hot water beach! Half way there we stopped in a town and got some food for tonight - burgers, sausage, egg, tomatoes ect. When we arrived we got changed and headed straight to the beach to dig a hole in the sand looking for a hot water pool. After a foot deep dig we gave up and just jumped in someone else's. It was boiling! There was actually a part of the beach that had water thatwas bubbling up from the sand! Steam rising from the ground was quite surreal.
After the beach we went for a walk around a few of the bays. There was Cathedral Cove, Stingray Bay and Gemstone Bay. I didn't see a cathedral, I didn't see any stingrays or any gemstones! Felt slightly cheated but either way I really enjoyed the time.
We got back from the walk late and we all cooked an awesome BBQ! We all chipped in $2 for general BBQ food then we all cooked our own meat and extras! I ate like a machine! Drunk a few beers and got to know everyone! Epic!
Was great to get into the trip! I booked the next activity for tomorrow, but ill save the details and build some tension! All I will say is its in the top five activities to do...ON THE PLANET! As voted by tourism.com...Exciting!!
