Seems to me that Mr. Challenger's driving position is textbook perfect. Relaxed, both hands on the wheel, no vision obstructions. There is a growing sntiment out there that the Mr. is being roasted for what may very well turn out to be faulty spotter activity/inattention on the ground.
Imagine the truth that might come out if Mr. C were to put some of his investigative prowess into this!!!
Kathryn Challenger
Posture ok if driving down the interstate, but when the trees attacked the MH he was driving on a very narrow, one way road at the Fort De Soto campground. Alone.....no spotter! After the "toad" was removed from the hitch, said spotter was sent ahead to the campsite. In this situation he should not have been in the reclining position. He admits he screwed up!

My how defensive "said spotter" seems...
The admission here appears to be coming from "said spotter". See, stating that poor Mr. was ..."Alone....no spotter!"......is an admission that his ground crew had fallen down on the job (or was drinking on the job - or both). No responsible ground personnel would have ever let their Mr drive....to use said spotter's words....."on a very narrow, one way road....ALONE....without a spotter".
We shall continue to seek out the real truth in sincere support of our hero, poor Rod.
p.s. Should have added "focused" to Mr. Challenger's perfect and textbook driving position in the picture.
