Lanterns and luxuries
You'll never guess what we did when we got back from sapa? Yup, got on another night bus, this time to hoi an. We arrived into hue just north at 9am so spent a few hours wandering around there before catching another bus to hoi an. The city is stunning! The buildings are all old with loads of character. Hoi an is also the tailoring capital of Vietnam and I was looking to get a special dress made!
Hannah and I stayed at sunshine hotel and got the most amazing twin room for only £9 each! We spent the first two days checking out the tailors and getting measured. They had my dress done in a day! I went with bebe tailors and they were good but try and haggle!
Apart from getting all glammed up we cycled to the beach. An bang beach, 2km north was amazing! Really quiet with clear calm water. Just what we needed after a hard morning at the tailors ;)! The cycle was really fun too as we passed the rice fields along the way. Plus it's always good to get some exercise!
Our last night we met up with a friend I met in Cambodia and went for a quiet drink. We ended up getting a boat across to infinity bar where the happy hour seemed to last all night. And lots of free rum was going round. Needless to say we all had a great night but the day after was delicate. Luckily we had booked a flight for the last leg so no more long buses! Imagine that with a hangover. So the what would have been 24 hours to Ho Chi Minh turned into a nice hour's flight. However the flight was delayed and we ended up buying mulberry purses at the airport. Ooops!
So from start to finish hoi an was all about beauty and spoiling yourself. Amazing!
