Next stop was the magnificent city of Sydney! After a gruelling 18 hours on the night bus I found myself plonked quite abruptly at central station in the middle of Sydney City centre. In my daze and tired confusion I thought the best course of action was to get a train. However it was only one stop and when I arrive I bump into a Scottish guy who was also on the bus at reception. He had walked as it only took him 10mins. Oh well, another live and learn moment for me.

That day I met up with two uni friends who had been living in Melbourne and were now travelling. Our first port of call had to be the opera house and harbour bridge. And they did not disappoint! Absolutely stunning and quite surreal to actually be standing next to it! The view of the botanical gardens just beside the opera house is the best.

Later that evening I went to darling harbour to watch the free fireworks they put on every Saturday. This weekend as extra special due to both Chinese New Year and valentines day. I treated myself to an ice cream. The perfect way to end my first day!
