Today we got up super early even though we were all STILL struggling with Jet Lag! We had a big day ahead of us!
First stop was Rodeo Drive! Soooo fabulous! Loved seeing all the gorgeous stores with awesome window displays! Was disappointed I didn't see a celeb but oh well! Still have over a month in the US... Surely I'll see one soon enough!
Next stop - Santa Monica beach! oh my god.... STUNNING! The boardwalk is amazing! The ferris wheel had such breath taking views and was a lot of fun! The roller coaster was rubbish! Cor & I were bitterly disappointed! I think the operator could tell so he gave us a free go for a second time! ;-)
Next stop is Venice Beach! Again, gorgeous! Such a beautiful boardwalk! We had lunch at a cafe right across the road, I was pleasantly surprised with the weather! It was quite warm which sucked because I didn't pack anything summer-ey! I had a taco with a sundried tomato Soft taco was so yum but massive! I couldn't even get through half! It shocked me how much vodka they put in my vodka and lemonade, I couldn't even drink it, it made me cringe!
After we were done with lunch we got a taxi to the Budget car rentals place to pick up our car to drive to Vegas! I was the only credit card holder which meant I had to drive :-/ I have enough trouble deciphering my left from right so this would prove to be a real problem! It was also reallllly hard to work out where the car is on the road because you're so used to feeling your place on the road from the right.
We decide to let Corey drive because he was the only one confident enough to drive and I would direct him via maps. I sorted out the route from Hollywood to Vegas and it looked incredibly easy on google maps so I just screen dumped the corners and turn offs on my phone and we were ready to go!
We got to the first turn off and it didn't feel right so I checked where the blue dot was on the map and we were on the wrong road! So we had to pull a U-Turn on a busy highway, on the opposite side of the car, on the opposite side of the road!! We then had to do this another 6 or 7 times... At one point Corey even drove on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic.. It was terrifying. We got to a petrol station to fill up the car and I just broke down... It was so hard to direct corey with everyone yelling at me when it wasn't my fault because I couldn't work out the maze of roads!!!
6 hours later we arrived in Vegas! It was AMAZING! We dropped the car off, got to the Hotel (The Signiture @ MGM Grand) and went to get something to eat... We went to the food court and at 11pm it was still serving food.. I had a Philly cheese steak and a lemonade and vodka (the font serve non-alcoholic drinks). After our delish meal we went up to our room to sleep as we had to get up at 5am to get the limo to go to the Grand Canyon for Jussys 30th bday the next morning.
