Went to the island tour today of Murano, Burano and Torcello. Then had a cruise along the Grande Canal

Today we walked around the shops and then went on s guided tour of St Marks Basilica and Doge's Palace. Also had an afternoon thunder and lightning rainstorm!

Arrived in Venice today from Rome. We took the Alilaguna water bus to San Marco square and then walked to the hotel. We walked around, ate dinner at Al Chianti. Walked around some more and had tea and dessert at Caffe Florian. The caffe was opened in1720 and is the oldest cafe in Venice. And a contender for the oldest coffee house in continuous operation
