I took a few days time out from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu city centre and organised a trip out of town. This took me to a place called Nagarkot. A crazy taxi ride brought me high into the mountainous regions and three hours later I arrived outside my hotel. It was cloudy, correction, I was in the clouds - it was cold and the air was thin; I struggled to get up the stairs with my big bag and inhale enough oxygen to do so! Once settled I explored the area, I headed up all the stairs to the highest point of the hotel; the viewing tower. Stood before me were the Himalayas. The sight was breathtaking. Later, I watched the sunset and the next morning I awoke very early and watched the sunrise - the photos don't do it enough justice but the sun catching the snow-capped tops was beautiful.
