Still in Center. After breakfast we went to the local library and sifted through their genealogy shelves. We found one book of Civil War veterans that said that Sanford had a third wife. That rascal! About every 20 years he got a new one! Off in search of Sanford's grave. We knew he is in Fairview Cemetery, but it has over a thousand graves - a bit large for our "walk it all" approach. We're settled in our hotel in Texarkana for the night. Moms washing her hair and I'm in the Olive Garden bar waiting for a togo order. ;-)

We were planning on going to Center next. As we were driving, we were talking about a place that my father mentioned but we could never find on maps, google, etc. He pronounced it "Tentre Hall," and it was in relation to his father Henry, who we have yet to locate. Tentre Hall. Hmmmm. Just then I see a road sign pointing to Tenaha. Tentre Hall. Tenaha. I remembered seeing a reference to a cemetery there. Off to Tenaha. Found it. No Henry, but there was a half unc...

We spent a good 3 hours in the Nacogdoches Public Library! Ah life in the fast lane. Actually it was pretty interesting. we spent the whole time in their local history section. Old news stories, Civil War records, etc. Still nothing on Henry. Later we'll head to nearby Chireno. We believe Sanford's first wife Sara Mathews is buried there. She had 11 children and died at age 31!!!!

Chireno is about 12 feet long and has no Internet. The Chireno Lower Cemetery is deep in rolling, piney woods logging country. It's just beautiful. We found my great grandfather's first wife and a couple other folks. Very interesting place. Next, off to Center TX.
