Arriving in Agra was crazy!! It is super busy with lots going on- lots of markets lots of people and even more animals! Every Friday the Taj Mahal is closed to tourists. We visited the Taj Mahal this morning (Saturday) at 6am to see the sunrise. The building was beautiful. It took 20 years to build and took 22,000 workers to complete. Arriving in Jaipur and it was nice to see some shops as hustle and bustle again after recent days! Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan and is home to the second most expensive hotel in the world. We have just got back to the hotel after experiencing an elephant ride up to Amber Fort. All the elephants were beautiful. Jaipur is also known as 'Pink city' and there is a 16km radius of pink houses!
Pushkar is known as 'the holy city'. It is a small city up in the mountains and many people came here to prey as the city is notorious for it's goo karma. It is strictly vegetarian here as well as alcohol free. - even eggs are not allowed.
Udaipur is the 'city of the lake' - which believe it or not has a huge lake running through. Rare within the state of Rajasthan and a majority of the land here is desert and dry. We stayed here one night. It was clear there was a few more tourists here.
Rankpur is right next to the jungle! There are panthas bears monkeys, lots of monkeys, and the occasional pig to be found. There's not much to do around Rankpur, especially as you have to be indoors after dark as there are a lot of poisonous snakes but we did visit the famous Jain Temple. Jain is a class of Hinduism and this temple is the only Jain temple in the country.
